• Whether or not the physician is board certified. Board certification is issued by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Since hair transplantation is not an official category which is eligible to receive this acknowledgement, a physician would need to be certified in dermatology or plastic surgery.

• Photos or videos of results that they have achieved for other patients they had performed work on in the past.

• Number of years of experience.  While there is no magic number which immediately qualifies a doctor as having the necessary experience to perform successful hair transplant procedures, it is still important for patients to discern between a novice versus a skilled practitioner with an extensive history
