Do You Perform Body Hair Transplant Using Back Hair ? I have a lot of hair on my back. I think it would be better to re-purpose this for use on my head. I have not seen an example of a patient whose surgeon would extract donor hairs from the back to be used for their hair transplant procedure.

A. Although I have performed body hair transplant surgeries using follicles taken from the back and shoulders, I do not recommend the use of back hair for BHT purposes in general. I have explained in detail why back hair should be avoided in performing body hair transplantation in this large scale BHT study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal in May of 2016.
