Is restoring your hair through diets a reasonable approach? Ever heard the phrase: You are what we eat? Is there a scientific basis for maintaining or restoring you hair through diets and diet manipulation? Proper nutrition is indeed important for the health of the hair follicles. Dietary considerations should be regarded as more of a foundation to help support their well being. They are not a cure for androgenic alopecia which is due to having a genetic predisposition. Nor do they offer a guaranteed way to restore hair. Rather, healthy food choices can help slow the rate of hair loss.

Rationale for Restoring Your Hair Through Diets

In our diet is all the components our tissues require to thrive. This includes building blocks (proteins and amino acids), energy sources as well as factors and co factors. such as vitamins etc. A severe lack of any of these components would result in hair loss either from poor growth or breakage. Choosing to upgrade the quality of your diet should be a long term commitment. Therefore, it is usually best best to consider wholesome, well rounded food choices and consume these on a regular basis rather than aiming for extremely specific and tightly regimented diets. In general, important nutrients for hair health include: iron, B6, B12, biotin, zinc, magnesium and protein.
