Previous hair restoration strip surgeries done at another Los Angeles hair transplant clinic had depleted his head donor with still more baldness to resolve he opted for a combination of FUE using head donor and BHT to add density to His frontal and mid scalp. Both procedures were carried out using the SFET method.
1767 grafts derived from the chest and abdomen and 750 from the nape, as well as 597 from the head were added to the hairline, frontal scalp and mid scalp.
The patient had undergone strip surgeries at another clinic years prior to seeing Dr Umar. He had the most severe ridging, a hairline packed densely with large plugs, and strip scars. The patient hides his disfiguring hairline by shaving the plugs and combing the hair I the frontal scalp forward.
Dr. Umar performed a series of plug extractions to move the plugging, reduce the ridging and make room for planting natural follicular units in the hairline. Subsequently, the hairline was recreated using head and nape hair. The strip scar was camouflaged with beard hair.
He was told by several hair transplant doctors and clinics that he was beyond repair and to wait for hair cloning or hair multiplication. Resigned to his faith, the patient resorted to wearing a hairpiece. He had his first surgery with Dr Umar in September of 2005. For his overall repair Dr. Umar used his then recently invented SFET method to transplant over 16,000 grafts derived from the chest, stomach area, arms and legs. About 2000 grafts were taken from the beard and another 1500 grafts from mainly the nape area. With this, Dr Umar obliterated the scars, and restored his NW 6 area advancing his hairline to a NW0 level. This hair transplant repair would have been impossible to achieve with head hair surgery based surgeries alone or by traditional strip hair transplant surgeries.
The patient had a previous hair transplant surgery at another clinic which utilized the follicular unit strip surgery ( FUSS ) technique. This surgery left him with a linear scar he wanted Dr. Umar to camouflage as well as an unnatural looking hairline he wanted Dr. Umar to refine. Dr. Umar repaired him back to a natural looking state by using 1500 head and nape hair grafts on the hairline and 300 beard derived grafts. Using the follicular unit extraction ( FUE ) method of hair restoration of SFET, Dr. Umar is able to conduct facial hair transplantation by transplanting beard hair to any area of need.
