Consultation
You should start with a consultation. This can be done online via email (Free),
or through an in-office visit (Dermatologist fee of $50).

For an in-office appointment, please call the office during working hours for an available appointment. In office appointments are rather limited; hence effort is made to screen patients by some preliminary questions on the phone. Sometimes a patient information form will be sent to you for completion before an in office appointment is given.

2.) Dr. Umar will return an opinion and recommendation to you based on the information provided.

3.) You will also be given dates to choose for your surgical appointment.

4.) Next, you will be required to make a non refundable deposit payment before the date becomes confirmed in your name. A 1 week window is given for this after which the dates may be reassigned
to other parties.

5.) Calculate your deposit by 10% of the total cost of surgery or $1000 (which ever is higher)
PLUS $500 for each day booked.

6.) In some situations, full payment for the surgery will be required 1 month before the date of surgery.

7.) Next, you will receive a preparatory instruction sheet, for measures to take in preparation
for your surgery.

You should make travel and accommodation arrangements and forward evidence of such to the clinic at info@dermhairclinic.com as soon as feasible.

The Procedure
Single Follicle Extraction and Transfer -SFET (a form of FUE) and Body Hair Transplant (BHT) as performed by Dr. Umar is a minimally invasive process that occurs in complete patient comfort. The whole process is done under local anesthesia and most patients are awake typically watching a movie of their choice during the procedure. Patients are able to take breaks during the process. Lunch is served in the clinic patio setting with a calming view of the Pacific Ocean.

Typically a mild sedative is taken orally at the start of the procedure. Pain is minimal both during and after the process. The procedure is done with the patient lying or sitting on our custom made, highly versatile operating table. Many have been taken a back by the degree of comfort in this operating table. After the procedure, most patients would not require even ordinary over the counter pain killers.

Depending on the size of the surgery, as many procedures can be scheduled over
the course of several back to back work days.

Healing Course
Head donor areas: This area is typically with no sign of surgery within a week of surgery.

Recipient area healing
Dr. Umar uses very tiny devices to prepare the recipients slit/holes into which hair units are implanted.
This is done in a minimally traumatic manner in a way that makes the healing course rapid.

Patients can wear a bandana or a spacious baseball hat in the immediate period following the procedure. You will be given prescription medications to use for a variable period of time as well as other written care instructions at the end of your surgery.
