This patient presented to Dr. Umar concerned about a receded hairline and a strip scar on the back of his head. He’d had a prior strip harvesting surgery that provided inadequate long-term growth and gave him the infamous linear scar. Clearly, he wanted a more youthful hairline and the strip scar filled in.

After extracting 1500 grafts from the patient’s head and nape, Dr. Umar’s advanced FUE hair transplant using uGraft proved successful yet again. The outcome of this second procedure is far superior to the first, and has provided the patient with exactly what he wanted: a youthful hairline and no linear scar in sight.

The FUE hair transplant also prevailed over the strip harvesting technique in regard to healing time. The patient told Dr. Umar that his advanced uGraft procedure simply gave him “two weeks of redness [and] a couple ingrown hairs,” while the strip procedure proffered a “long” healing time, and a scar to boot.

In regard to his results at only 7 months, the patient said, “I couldn’t be happier, honestly.”

This patient presented to Dr. Umar after having already had FUE hair transplantation at another clinic. He’d had 3600 FUE grafts but wanted more fullness with no scarring. Dr. Umar renewed his FUE hair transplantation by using 6100 FUE grafts transplanted from head, beard, and body to get the results in the video. You can observe how Dr. Umar’s FUE hair transplantation achieved a fuller, more natural looking head of hair, and evenness across the crown.

Dr. Umar performed an FUE SFET procedure on this patient using 5000+ grafts by FUE to treat his hair loss and repair his strip scar from a poor result of a previous transplant.

As this video shows, now this patient can have a buzz cut with virtually no signs of his strip scar. WIth Dr Umar’s SFET type of FUE, a buzz cut is possible in this patient even obscurring his hitherto very obvious and socially limiting strip scar. Body hair transplant as practiced by Dr Umar uses body and beard hair and is made possible through the advanced FUE method called SFET. This video shows the before and after results.

“Strip harvesting” is an outdated approach to hair transplantation. It usually requires cutting strips of flesh from the back and side of the head, resulting in a linear scar that can widen overtime, and forcing you to continually find ways to hide it. The older method also limits the donor supply to 5,000-7,000 hair follicles, a huge waste.

Scarring is a huge issue with the strip approach, but not with the advanced method taken by Dr. Umar. Follicular Unit Extraction is a minimally invasive procedure that leaves no scarring, as can be seen in this video featuring a patient who was so desperate to hide his scars he resorted to tattoos.

All ethnicities can experience the devastating impact of hair loss. Dr. Umar has restored the hairlines of every ethnic group and understands the individual needs required. All hair restoration needs are not the same, which someone with his expertise understands implicitly. Dr. Umar’s track record proves that hair restoration is for everyone.

This patient underwent the outdated “strip harvesting” method of hair transplant at another clinic, leaving him with 1,000 grafts relocated to no avail because the transplanted hair did not grow. He was also left with an ugly scar he tried to disguise with a tattoo.

Dr. Umar got to work. Using Follicular Unit Extraction, he transplanted 800 individual grafts to restore the patient’s hairline, 250 grafts for his crown and 150 grafts to camouflage the strip scar.

This video, shot 10 months after surgery, shows you the very happy result from a very happy patient!

The outdated hair transplant method of “strip harvesting” leaves those who have endured it with no appreciable difference in hair restoration, along with an unsightly scar to remind them of the failed effort. This scarring also greatly reduces their personal style choices, because it is all but impossible to sport a tight crew cut when you need your hair to hide the scars.

This patient did what we at DermHair Clinic have seen many do – resort to tattoos in a desperate attempt to hide the scars left by “strip harvesting.” Dr. Umar helped him by using the patient’s body hair (body hair to head transplant) to camouflage the scar, transplanting 1,200 individual hair follicles to the problem area.

Was he happy? Take a look at the “before” and “after” in the video to decide!

At DermHair Clinic, we see many people in search of a solution to failed transplant surgeries that used outdated methods such as “strip harvesting,” which left them as bald as ever – with bonus of ugly scars.

For this patient, Dr. Umar used Follicular Unit Extraction to transplant 2,600 individual hairs from the patient’s nape of the neck and his head to fill in the balding areas of his crown, along with 300 individual hair grafts from his beard to hide the scar. It was important to the patient that the final result give him a conservative hairline and crown area.

This video was shot 12 months after the surgery. Nice job!

This patient had resorted to wearing a hairpiece to hide the damage from a failed transplant procedure done at another clinic. His unnatural hairline was pluggy, his crown empty, scars from the outdated “strip harvesting” method were prominent. He also lacked adequate amounts of donor hair on his scalp to use for transplant.

Dr. Umar used Follicular Unit Extraction by way of body hair to head transplant to relocate 9,000 individual grafts of hair from the patient’s chest, beard, head and nape of his neck to restore his hair. Behold the result, 10 months later!

“I am free from the shackles of the hairpiece,” said this very pleased client after the procedure.

A harsh hairline is common with the older strip method of hair transplantation because it uses hair from the middle and back of your head, which is thickest.
