Surgery:

The patient had undergone the follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS) at a clinic in Canada. While his result in the recipient area was fine he wanted the option of keeping his hair short, but was unable to do so without the scar showing. Dr. Umar literally obliterated the appearance of the hair transplant scar vexing the patient using 1000 beard derived grafts by FUE – SFET facial hair transplant. Dr Umar is in the forefront of the beard hair transplantation procedure. Patient with NW6 level of hair loss, Strip surgery that resulted in plugs and severe ridging. We was still severely bald with large strip scars in the donor, a ravaged and depleted donor. He resorted to wearing a hairpiece. The patient went to Dr. Umar to create a realistic hairline using chest hair and facial hair to head transplant.

Surgery:

Dr. Umar obscured the ridging and commenced coverage first in the bridge between the frontal area and side as well as the frontal, and mid scalp using facial hair to head transplant, with some chest hair. In the future the patient would have Dr. Umar add hair to his crown and mid scalp.

The patient has a history of several strip style hair transplants also known as follicular unit transplantation. While this gave him a lot of hair, he was left with very pluggy looking hairline that he has had to hide and be self conscious about for years. In this case, the patient had lost his head donor after multiple antiquated scalp surgeries at other clinics, which left him still very bald with many disfiguring scars. Left with no option, he went to see Dr. Umar about using facial hair transplant and body hair as his only resort.

Surgery:

Dr. Umar carried out the facial hair transplant surgery using 2,000 beard hair as well as 8000 hair from the stomach area, arms, legs and thighs. The result in 6 months is a completely transformed and happy patient.

A 61 year old who would be NW 6 but with a history of transplants that were done in 1987 and 1989, he requested body hair transplantation. His previous hair transplants consisted of several minigrafts and plugs that covered his frontal and mid scalp. His crown was empty except for a few isolated plugs.

Surgery:

Using body hair transplant, Dr. Umar transplanted 3,000 gray and dark body hair and observed darkening of the transplanted area at 7 months. Next Dr. Umar selected all gray hair from a defined area of the chest and transplanted 1354 of these to the bald crown. At 20 months we observed predominantly dark hair growth in transplanted area of the crown.

He did not want any head or beard hair used.

The patient had 6000 more body hair transplanted from the thighs, chest, abdomen to his hairline, and the remaining NW 6 area. The result of his BHT is shown at over 1 year after his last surgery. He is happy with his result.
