Aggressive Hairline and Crown Restoration Using Beard Grafts Photos & Video

This patient wanted to rejuvenate his appearance by achieving an aggressive hairline restoration with a UGraft procedure. To achieve the fullness that this patient wanted, Dr. U harvested grafts from the beard regions, the scalp and the nape.

Using Beard Hair For Aggressive Hairline Restoration

The beard can serve as an abundant source of additional grafts. Not all patients have enough follicles on the scalp to achieve their ideal result. Therefore, they may benefit from the use of non-head hair sourced from other parts of the body such as the face and neck.

Beard hair grows differently from head hair. Also wound healing from the extraction phase tends to be scrutinized more closely on open regions of skin, compared to the head.

Dr. U invented his UGraft technology with these needs in mind so that patients can benefit from the use of beard and body hair.  Read more

Patient’s Hairline and Crown Restoration Results

Through a combination of beard, head and nape hair, this patient was able to reverse the thinning which affected his hairline, temples and crown. As the photos below illustrate, his full hairline produced a very youthful looking transformation which the patient had wanted.

Much of the crown was also restored. However, the patient intends to undergo another procedure with Dr. U to completely cover this region.

Both growth and aesthetics are important elements of hair transplant results. Besides helping this patient attain the coverage that he wanted, Dr. U also created a flattering hairline and temple design to frame the face in the best way possible.

The wound healing results of the beard zone are shown on this patient are shown in the video below. UGraft creates uniquely shaped wound cavities which minimizes extraneous tissue that would otherwise form raised scars. Therefore, in terms of donor healing,  it enables much higher standards to be met compared to general Follicular Unit Extraction punches.

The final outcome is shown two years after the initial surgery. In his video below, he explains that his results manifested according to the standard expected time frames. He says that the first signs of new hair started to appear at about three months. And optimal growth became apparent around the nine to ten month point.
